Marilin North is a visual artist who lives and works in Leitrim. Her practice is drawing based.
Between 1999 and 2005, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Sociology and Politics followed by an independent research-based Masters of Philosophy (M Litt) specializing in the Philosophy of Mind at NUI Galway.
Marilin started drawing full-time in 2012 when she moved back to Sligo from Cornwall.
In 2021, Marilin was invited to exhibit work in a three-person show, 'Outbuilding' at the Source Arts Centre in Tipperary.
Her work has been exhibited at the Hamilton Gallery in Sligo, the Museum of Irish Literature, the 137th Annual Royal Ulster Academy exhibition, Cairde Visual at the Model, The Dock, Rua Red and the Leitrim Sculpture Centre.
In 2018, she was awarded an Artist’s Mentorship Programme grant by Leitrim County Council and worked with the artist Michael Wann at his studio in the Model, Sligo.
